Do You Really Need a Portable Projector Screen?

If you are looking for a projector screen but don’t want to spend thousands of dollars on a top-of-the-line fixed screen, there are several options available to you. One is to use any monochromatic material as a screen. Another is to paint a wall with a matte paint, or a specialty screen paint, and use that as a screen.

These options are cheaper than a good projector screen, but they have disadvantages. A plain piece of fabric will be difficult to secure in a way that will keep it taut while you’re using it. Building a decent frame for it, and making sure it’s as sturdy as it should be for best picture quality can end up costing you as much as buying a screen. The obvious drawback to painting a wall to be your screen is that the wall will have to remain that way at all times.
