Video Screens in Lighted Environments
If you’re looking for a video display for an environment that can’t be entirely darkened, then a projector coupled with a Black Diamond screen is a great choice for your home or business.
Black Diamond Video Screens Are Different
The dark gray color of the Black Diamond screens may seem odd at first, but the advantages are obvious when seen in action. The reflective nature of the Black Diamond is different than white or gray screens. The contrast is greater. The blacks are darker. The most obvious difference, though, is the way that the Black Diamond screens seem to absorb light, instead of bouncing it around the room.
This is an important difference. When you project an image on a white or gray screen, the light from the projector bounces off the screen. This light bounces off the walls and ceiling of the room and comes back to the screen, which increases the ambient light in the room and can dull the image on the screen. Black Diamond screens only reflect light aimed directly at the screen, and only reflect that light back at the source. This allows you to use a Black Diamond screen in situations where standard projector screens are unwatchable.
A Black Diamond screen looks just like a HD television display when not in use. When in use, the picture quality is comparable to an HD television in lighted rooms. This makes a Black Diamond screen a viable alternative to an HD television display. Projector screens are available in sizes much larger than HD televisions and can better withstand the elements, making them feasible for outdoor use.
