Find Your Home Projection Screen at Screen Innovations
Here at Screen Innovations, we can assure you that you will find the very best home projection screen for your system, your circumstances and your budget, no matter what your needs. We offer an exceptional range of fixed and motorized screens, with a correspondingly wide range of sizes, screen materials, aspect ratios and special features. Most of our screens can be completely customized as well, and we are known for the fastest turnaround in the industry on custom orders. Add to that our lifetime replacement guarantee on all our products, and you’ll see why Screen Innovations is the ultimate source for your home projection screen.
Choose a Motorized Home Projection Screen
We offer both fixed and motorized home projection screens, but our motorized screens in the Performance and Reference series offer the greatest convenience and versatility, at very attractive prices. In addition to the economy inherent in a projection system (which costs only a fraction of the price for a comparable TV system), our low-voltage motors will save you money on your electric bill and can be installed without the need for electricians and expensive rewiring.
All motorized screens can be retracted out of the way when not in use, but those offered at Screen Innovations have an extra feature. While the industry standard is for external mounting, with the equipment needed for flush mounting available only at extra cost, the screens in both our Performance and Reference series come complete with everything you need to flush mount, making them even more unobtrusive in a room that is used for several purposes.
We also offer a wide range of cutting-edge screen materials, including the Maestro screens, which are engineered for industry-leading audio clarity, with a maximum variance of +2 -1 db from 20 to 20k Hz.

Affordable Home Movie Screens from Screen Innovations
What we mean when we say “home movies” has changed drastically in the last decades, and so have the home movie screens we show them on. It wasn’t so long ago that home movies were jittery, washed-out scenarios of family vacations, babies’ birthdays and Christmas trees, enjoyed by the noisy flickering of the old projector. That projector, and the portable screen that went with it, were only hauled out on special occasions, and set up with a great deal of fuss for the audience jammed on the couch or standing against the walls.
How times have changed! Easy-to-use video cameras have made family films as ubiquitous as still photo albums. But what we used to call “home movies” are now just a tiny fraction of what we watch chez nous. Today we can watch wide-screen Hollywood epics or obscure foreign films in the comfort of our own family rooms, shortly after they’ve appeared in theaters. Children can have a library of their favorite movies just like their collection of storybooks. We can even learn how to do Pilates, tie an irresistible trout fly or whip up a chocolate mousse!
What we watch has changed, and what we watch them on has kept pace. Portable screens are still available (and we have two excellent styles at Screen Innovations), but most families now use their projector systems far too frequently to make that the best choice.
Fixed or Retractable Home Movie Screens Offer Greater Convenience
At Screen Innovations, we offer a wide range of fixed and retractable home movie screens that will maximize the potential of your system and give you a clear, vibrant image even under the most difficult circumstances, and all at exceptionally attractive prices. You can use our Screen Wizard to help you choose among the many options available.
Find Your Home Movie Screen at Screen Innovations
Your home movie screen is one of the most important components of your projection system. You’ll want to select a screen that maximizes the potential of your projector, while taking into account many other considerations, such as size, aspect ratio, screen material, method of installation, environment, décor and cost.
At Screen Innovations, we offer an exceptional range of choices, so you can be sure you’re getting the best home movie screen for your circumstances and your budget. (Remember that the highest-end projection system still costs only a tiny fraction of the outlay for a comparable television system.)
How to Select the Best Home Movie Screen for Your System
With so many elements to consider, and so many choices at your disposal, making the best choice may seem a bit overwhelming, especially if you are not fluent in the technological aspects such as gain, half-gain angle, contrast ratio, projector lumens or ambient foot candles. But relax: we’re here to help.
We’ve created a Screen Wizard to help you narrow down your options. All you really need to know is how dark or light the room will be and the aspect ratio. (Home movie screens are most often in the 16:9 ratio.) If you have information about your projector or have decided on the size of screen you want, enter that data. With one click, you’ll get an easy-to-read color-coded chart that shows the best screens for your circumstances. How simple is that?
Black Diamond High End Projection Screens
Screen Innovations is proud to offer Black Diamond high end projection screens. Black Diamond represents the acme of screen technology, making clear, crisp, color-saturated projection possible under conditions that were simply unworkable before.
Black Diamond Represents the Ultimate in High End Projection Screens
Black Diamond projection screens have been engineered to absorb both ambient light and light scatter from the projector. In a bright room, even with lights on, the Black Diamond screen material can absorb ambient light, making it possible to obtain a crisp, dimensional image in applications where only a flat-screen HDTV would work before. In a dark room, the Black Diamond screen can absorb more than 75 percent of the light scatter that would otherwise be reflected back onto the screen, washing out the image.
This ability to absorb light was accomplished when Screen Innovations developed a way to produce screens with multiple optical laminations. The advanced reflective layer in Black Diamond has a resolution optimized for 1080p HD projectors. This focuses more projected light to the viewer and wastes less on scatter. The result is dramatically enhanced contrast, color saturation and depth of field, as well as the blackest blacks and the whitest whites.
Black Diamond is available in 1.4 and 0.8 gains, and in Five aspect ratios. For screens that are 2.40:1, the maximum seamless screen size is 142″, measured diagonally. A screen with a 16:9 ratio can be 113″, and a 4:3 screen can be up to 93″.

The Best HDTV Projection Screen
When you’ve invested in a top-quality HDTV system, you’ll want to make the most of that investment with the best HDTV projection screen. Most projection screens on the market today utilize a texture that results in a fuzzy, soft image that negates the quality of your projector. At Screen Innovations, we have developed a micro-embossing technique that provides the clearest, sharpest image and makes the most of your projector’s capabilities. This texture is available on our Gamma, Solar and Lunar HD screens, and Gamma and Lunar Maestro HD options, which have been specially developed for sound clarity as well. These screen materials are available in the Performance and Reference series.
Black Diamond: The Elite HDTV Projection Screen
The jewel in our crown is the Black Diamond, the most advanced screen material on the market. Available in Reference series fixed screens, the Black Diamond absorbs ambient light to increase projection contrast by over 300 percent, allowing clear, sharp images and vivid color saturation even when viewing in a lighted room. In a dark environment, the Black Diamond screen also absorbs more than 75 percent of the light scatter from the projector, which otherwise would be reflected back on to the screen, resulting in a washed-out image. This means that you can now achieve projection system results that equal a flat-panel HDTV screen.
Black Diamond screens are available in 0.8 and 1.4 gains. The maximum seamless size for the 2.40:1 ratio is 142″, measured diagonally. A 16:9 screen can be113″ and a 4:3 ratio allows for 93″.
Screen Innovations has also patented a unique bungee attachment system, which allows one person to install the screen quickly and easily, and ensures that every screen is completely uniform. Like all our products, our Black Diamond screens are protected by a lifetime replacement policy.

Motorized Projection Screens Are a Great Choice for Rooms With Limited Wall Space
You essentially have two options when it comes to projection screens. Fixed screens are installed fully extended and do not move. Your other option is a screen that retracts either manually or motorized. The choice that’s best for you depends on what the screen is for and where it will be installed.
While a fixed screen is an attractive addition to a home theater or a sports bar, not everyone has the luxury of having enough dedicated wall space to install a fixed screen. For those who need a projector screen that can be raised and lowered, in a classroom or conference room, for example, where wall space is also needed for white boards or other fixed displays, movable screens are a practical solution. Movable screens are available in manual and motorized versions. A manual screen can be either pull up or pull down and can be adjusted by hand to the exact size needed.
Screen Innovations’ Reference series motorized screens utilize low voltage motors that do not require a certified electrician to wire for power. They also reduce energy use. The motion of the screen can be controlled with a wall switch or projector screen controls may be mounted remotely, to control via IR control, i.e. remote. Our screens also come with the necessary hardware to install them flush or external for maximum flexibility. Décor plates also allow a truly attractive fixture that easily integrates into the room’s design.
