This is called light scatter, and results from the light being reflected off the screen. Black Diamond screens, however, absorb light, reducing scatter by as much as 75 percent. The image stays color saturated, with no washout or hot spots, no matter how bright the projector is.
Washout is even more of a problem when circumstances make it difficult to control the ambient light in your viewing room. Even in daylight, or with lights on in the room, Black Diamond screens deliver exceptional blacks and whites, with true color dimension. The contrast available with Black Diamond screens is approximately 300 percent better than with any other type of screen.
