Janus from SI enables as many as eight screens to be powered and controlled from a hub 75% smaller than traditional control panels.

AUSTIN, TX (January 16, 2020) — Screen Innovations (SI), a premiere manufacturer of optical screen and shading products, announces at ISE 2020 in stand #1-N80, a revolutionary new product, Janus, designed to simplify and expand the installation of motorized screens. In the past, integrators have had no choice but to mount huge panels or run conduit to deliver power and control multiple motorized screens. SI’s revolutionary Janus hub, however, is able to do the job at a fraction of the size of traditional panels, without the need for conduit. Janus is 75% smaller than its closest competitor, yet has the capacity to accommodate connections for as many as eight screens and eight accessories, such as keypads.

Its ultra-compact form factor combined with huge capacity for commercial and large residential projects sets Janus in a class all its own. Ideal for projects requiring the installation of multiple screens, the expandability of Janus is limitless. It can utilize all wire topologies, even a Cat5 or Cat6 can be run 45.7 meters or more to SI’s largest screen motor.

Designed for the Future
Janus was designed for integrators to be infinitely expandable and capable of supporting any project. “We designed a product that combines future and past technologies into one, with the combination of UTP connections on one side of Janus and terminal blocks on the other side. No matter what type of wire you pulled on an existing project or a new project, Janus can be employed,” says Michael Braithwaite, CTO of SI.

Fits Where Traditional Panels Can’t and Runs Cool to the Touch
Due to its small form factor and highly efficient power supplies, Janus affords integrators a wide variety of mounting options. Unlike all other low-voltage power and control systems, Janus is both rack and panel mountable. It can even be mounted above the ceiling to minimize wiring runs. Several Janus units can be daisy-chained to streamline the installation of extremely large screen jobs. Traditional structured wiring enclosures support only 10 screens. Because Janus runs cool to the touch, multiple units can be stacked together tightly to support 32 screens in the same allotment of space of a conventional panel that supports 10 screens.
