SI’s New Reference Motorized Series is the First Flush & Décor Motorized Low Voltage Projector Screen Available, Making it the Leading Motorized Screen Solution for Home Theater, Commercial, and Family Room Applications .

Austin, TX – March 24, 2009 – SI (www.screeninnovations.com) is proud to announce that its new low voltage Reference Motorized projector screen series will ship by the end of March, and will also be launched during the Spring 2009 Electronic House Expo, held in Orlando, Fla. from March 12-14 at the Orange County Convention Center, demo alley room 230D.

“Our new Reference Motorized Series sets the standard for high-end electric projector screens,” explained Tim Freemyer, SI product development manager. “This elegant new design includes all the amenities along with the convenience of a low voltage system. Reference motorized encompasses the most cutting edge electronics and controls as standard features making it the leading screen solution for home theater, commercial, and family room applications.”

To date, most projector screens utilize high voltage motors because of their cheep cost and high power output. High voltage screens have limited custom installers’ options by not allowing flexibility with wiring and controls placement. SI has taken the lead in motor development by engineering one of the most powerful and quietest low voltage motors available today. SI’s new low voltage motor design empowers installers to run a simple two-conductor low voltage wire to the screen. No electrician is needed and no power outlet must be located at the screen, either.

Up until now when mounting a motorized projection screen in ceiling, the industry standard has been to sell a separate chassis to put the screen in, which is both costly and impractical. With SI’s new Reference Motorized Series, the customer/installer can either add flush mount plates at the bottom for “flush” installations or add the sexy décor plate for “external” installations. Either way, pricing remains the same while eliminating the need for an extra box and freight costs. The roller and motor can be removed on the fly with SI’s quick release system for pre-installs.

“In addition, the Reference Motorized low voltage controls can be external, giving installers the ultimate flexibility when installing high-end custom jobs,” Freemyer continued. “The controls can reside in the installation cabinet or equipment rack, making integration a breeze. Only 16 gauge 2 conductor wire is needed to run the screen. No power is needed at the screen location!”
