Nano: How to Swap the Motor in a Nano V2 Shade (Indoor)

This article shows how to easily swap the motor in your Nano V2 indoor shade.

Before You Start #

• Make sure the shade is fully raised.

• Disconnect power or unplug the motor if needed.

• Grab a Phillips screwdriver–maybe a flathead too for prying.

Step-by-Step Instructions #

1. Remove the front fascia:

   • Loosen the 3/32″ Allen screws in each end cap, they are REVERSE THREADED

   • Twist the fascia forward and up with one hand on the end cap, and the other on the fascia to detach it from the cassette.

   • Set it aside in a safe place.

2. Disconnect the motor wire:

   • Find the motor cable inside the cassette and unplug it from the connector.

3. Loosen the screws on the motor bracket:

   • Use a Phillips screwdriver to loosen the bracket screws on the motor (drive) side.

   • No need to remove them–just loosen enough to free the motor.

4. Remove the motor from the tube:

   • Gently pull the motor out of the roller tube.

   • You may need to rotate slightly to clear the tube’s alignment grooves.

5. Transfer the collar (if needed):

   • If your motor uses a collar or adapter, move it to the new motor.

   • Make sure it’s aligned properly with the grooves in the roller tube.

6. Install the new motor:

   • Insert the new motor into the roller tube.

   • Rotate slightly to align the grooves and push until fully seated.

7. Reinsert the motor end into the bracket:

   • Slide the motor end back into the motor bracket.
     

   • Tighten the screws to secure the bracket.

8. Reconnect the motor wire:

   • Plug the motor cable back into the connector inside the cassette.

9. Test the motor:

   • Power it up and test with a remote or controller to make sure it jogs up/down.

10. Reinstall the fascia:

    • Snap the front fascia back into place by pressing it dwon and inward.
